New Sticky
Honestly, a new sticky wouldn't help. When it says "Every question answered here" and people ask questions...you would assume the sticky does not root out those people, and a new one wouldn't cut down either. My guess is roughly 1/3 of these posts are people who do not want to look up the info but have it spoon-fed to them, 1/3 are people who are trolling, and 1/3 are people who just dont know how to use the forum yet. It will not cut down on the first 2/3, and the later 1/3 (the ones we actually want to help) might be scared off.
Which is why I think Aethien's post might be the best approach. It's a psuedo-sticky, meaning it requires all of 20 seconds to open, copy, paste, post and it will give the first 1/3 a "we wont spoon-feed you" message, the second 1/3 wont get any satisfaction if we just paste a premade answer, and the last 1/3 will get the information on how to better their post so we can actually help them without causing our eyes to bleed.-comma long-slash comma comma asterick underscore asterick comma comma long-slash commaI know this won't get rid of all the retards, but can we make a sticky that says "WARNING, DO NOT POST UNTIL YOU"VE READ THIS, OR NORTHAI WILL KILL YOU IN RL!". Such as, "can you look at my profile and tell me how to be l33t?" or "what is teh l33t3st pet, lol?" or "can you tell by my post that I am a Huntard?"
I find it frustrating when someone asks a very general, can you pick my pet, gear and build so I can be l33t, question? Without at least putting in the, I plan on doing this (PVP, PVE, l33ting) and would like to spec in this tree.
I ask a lot of questions about things, because the forumers have been very helpful in tweaking things for me, or giving me insight on things that I didn't know. I do try to be a little more specific though... just a little more.
